Manifesting migraines away

Manifesting is the act of making something happen by imagining that it will.  It’s sort of a combination of ‘positive thinking’, ‘mind over matter’ and ‘the law of attraction’.  I believe that we do have a certain amount of control over our localized destiny, and as such I see no harm in actively visualizing a more positive future.

In the past, I believe I ‘manifested’ my way to being the top of my class at university by repeatedly visualizing myself accepting the award at the graduation ceremony.  (Although the alternate way of looking at this, is that I set ‘high grades’ as a priority and worked my butt off to get there).

Manifesting often involves visualizing success and/or repeating affirmational mantras.  For pain relief, the mantras you might repeat to yourself throughout the day include ; ‘I’m getting better every day’, ‘I am strong’, ‘I survived yesterday and can thrive today’, ‘I’m doing the best I can’, ‘patients need patience’, ‘today has potential’, ‘I am open to miracles’, ‘there is so much good in my life’, or ‘I am at peace with what life gives me’.

For myself, I find that repeating these sorts of mantras is helpful to staying positive and keeping negative thoughts at bay.  If I wake up first thing in the morning and the pain is particularly bad, it helps to say ‘it is what it is’ than begin raging at the injustice of my predicament which has a detrimental flow-on effect to my mood (and my family).

You can support artists by purchasing affirmation cards at places like etsy (Affirmation mantra cards – Etsy Australia) or make your own.

The trick is to hold this approach lightly.  I have never been able to will my migraines away and sometimes that can make me feel as if I’m not trying hard enough or I lack some sort of higher ability.  Manifest all you like, but the reality is migraines are largely beyond our control.

The following articles reveal some of the positives of manifesting whilst also noting we should never beat ourselves up when attempting to manifest, and that adopting such a laser-like infatuation with a singular goal is ultimately unhelpful:

If you are interested in trying manifesting – lightly – there are a few good meditation-style sessions I’ve tried here:

There are also some on my short migraine mediation channel over on spotify:  Short Migraine Meditations – playlist by themindfulmigraine.wordpress.com | Spotify

This is a technique that falls into the “alternative” mode of healing, but I don’t mind; I’m ready to try anything!

Take care carefully, Linda x
