One of those days

I’m having one of those days, where nothing seems to be going quite right. I’m not sick now, but last night was rough and I’m feeling a tad overwhelmed. So, today’s post is short and sweet.

Do any of you wear glasses?

And do any of you ever find, (in the same way a foam eye-mask can feel too heavy during a migraine attack), that the glasses that sat on your face perfectly well yesterday suddenly feel uncomfortable? Sitting right on the bridge of your nose and weighing a ton?

And is it just me, or does anyone else in the whole wide world find that the best solution is to put a little bit of folded paper onto the spot right where it hurts, like this:

Most mortifyingly of all, is it only me, or has anyone else forgotten that the paper is there, and opened the front door for the postman, only to have them stare at you strangely?

It’s bad enough that people look like they think I’ve been ‘ripped off’ when they overhear a conversation about me and Botox and misunderstand the ‘treatment’ I’m having, but now, the postie thinks I’ve had a nose job!

I’m not one for ‘leaning into’ my diagnosis of chronic migraine, I think we can do better than that. But there are days when you have to ‘own it’. Today’s ‘one of those days’.

Talk soon and take care, Linda x

I’m sorry to chuckle, but this was funny. I mean the part where you open the door and the postman sees you. For sure, I’ve had that feeling with glasses feeling incredibly heavy. I hope you’re feeling better. 💕

Much better today thank you – and I’m thrilled I brought a smile to your face – for the life of me I couldn’t figure out why he was acting so awkward and desperate to break eye contact with me! It was only as I walked past a mirror I realized what I’d done! 🤣

LOL – you gave the postman a funny story to tell that night at dinner. 😉

Yes, I think it’s only you;-P I wear reading glasses, the cheapies from the chemist. I was once the only person on a project in the US with 80 people on it that didn’t wear glasses (I was an IT consultant). But as I’m getting older, I need reading glasses finally.

Luckily they don’t hurt, but sitting on a computer all day with glasses that did hurt would annoy me a lot and I’d probably do something like put paper there to help.

Or maybe my nose just doesn’t swell up with barometric changes….:) ..sorreeee

Considering you’re someone who was “sitting on a computer all day” – I don’t think I’m the weirdest person out there at all – next time try sitting “at it”! 🤣

Nice trick. I might need to try it next time I have a headache because I forgot to drink coffee before 9 AM.

Ah the old coffee – trigger; I can’t live without it… however, I can’t really live with it too much either! (sorry I haven’t popped over to visit for awhile; so many blogs – so little time! I’ll head over when my head’s better.) xox

Hey, don’t worry. It’s hard to read all the blogs every day. Too much going on.

I’ll get there though – I love the lucidity you bring to the world (PS it suits you that your initials generated “Energetic Opportunity” on the jumbled journal prompter from a few days ago – it suits you!) xx

I’m definitely going to try the paper on the nose. It actually looks like the old time sun block.

He he – pity I’m too much of a vampire to go outside in the sun when I’m sick! xox
