Angel Number 5

Published by

For those of you who are new to my blog, there’s a little habit that I have gotten into, which is celebrating my ‘inchstones’ (as opposed to ‘milestones’). All those little baby-steps that are helping me heal are recognized, including my monthly anniversaries of blogging (which I started on January the 17th, 2024). And, yes, I know, 5 months is still a small number to be shouting out about, but it’s my small number, and I couldn’t be prouder.

Out of curiosity, I looked up the significance of the number 5 in numerology.

Number 5 is the midway point of the numbers 1 to 9, so many see the number 5 as the symbol of balance. For others, it is the pivot-point, the number which indicates a moment of change. It is a ‘dynamic’ number, ‘energetic’ and ‘free’. There were also references to the 5 senses, and as such, the number 5 indicates a life lived experientially and in full. For some it is a number of transformation, which normalizes the mystical (the 4 earthly elements + spirit). Bible readings seem to emphasize the Grace of God. And of course, there’s the reverse; it’s occult implications through the pentagon.

Adventure, freedom, balance, sensuality, spirituality, embracing new opportunities, and communal spirit were all phrases that kept repeating in amongst the contradictions.

Curiosity peaked by numerology, I went looking in more detail for what ‘angel numbers’ are. I’m late to this party, I know, but I had only heard the phrase in passing from my daughters and their friends, who had used everything from their house number, mobile phone numbers or birth dates to calculate what theirs might be. An angel number is supposedly a recurring message from the divine realm, offering guidance and support. They are typically one, two, or three digits long.

Others are motivated less by ‘divine’ numbers, and more by the maths; for example, if your birthday was the first of January 1980, then your magical number would be 0+1+0+1+1+9+8+0 = 20, which is where some people stop, whilst others keep reducing it down to a single digit, such that 2+0=2. My birthdate, for example, could be 28, or 10, or 1, depending on where you stop, whilst my mobile phone number is 37, 10, or 1 (spooky!)

Different websites seem to apply different meanings to Angel Number 5, but what seems to come up a fair bit is the notion that you should prepare for change, be positive, and not dwell on the negative.

As someone who is going through a holistic healing journey, which emphasizes the positivity of mindfulness; increasing joy to reduce pain – this sounds pretty good to me… yay 5!

Now for the fun bit – anyone who’s been here for more than a month, knows that as part of my mini-celebrations, my most favorite thing to do is a shout-out of blogs that I’ve loved visiting over the last 4 weeks, and whose authors have been kind enough to visit me back and get chatty. So, without further ado, here’s another 14 blogs that make me smile (it’s a big number to be sure, but you know, 1+4=5!)… be sure to pop over and say hi to a couple:

I love that you ended up with “1” from both your birth date and your phone number. That cracked me up to no end (and it is a bit “spooky” in a lovely sort of way).

My husband and I have always clung to the number 13. We got married on Friday the 13th because we’ve never been the lucky sort and thought What the hell? Let’s roll the dice and spite the universe. We’ve celebrated eighteen anniversaries since. (Oddly enough, I added up the numbers for our wedding date and you get 13! How weird is that? πŸ˜‚)

Thank you so very much, too, for including me in your list of blogs to visit. I am beyond honored and will definitely be checking out the others! βœ¨πŸ’•βœ¨

I always liked 7, I was 7 in 1977, and I remember my brother telling me it was a lucky number on that birthday. Channel 7 was doing the 7 symbol at the time, where you would flash 5 and 2 fingers with your hand and say ‘sev-en’, each syllable with each flash. So 7 it was for me!

In old writings, seven often means ‘many’. So the legendary seventh son of a seventh son really just means ‘there are many, and you are at the bottom of the pile’. Seven days to create the world in the bible, and it’s all through it. Seven means infinity in the Koran and is used often to mean this.

Our brains are also supposed to only remember 7(+-2) things at a time, so maybe this is why 7 became ‘many’, too many to remember after that.

Anyway, congrats of being here, keep it up and hope it’s helping you and all who read:-)

7’s great; the days of the week, rainbow, dwarves… so many things come in 7s (didn’t know about the infinity aspect)!

You’re younger than me, so I think I remember the add, or something similar (no doubt everyone was wearing tight terry-toweling shorts and bucket hats and had their hair in a bowl-cut!) xx

Big congrats on another “inchstone!” (I like that term!) 😊

The number 5 was always my favorite number, but for a much less mystical reason: my all-time favorite baseball player since I was seven years old is Johnny Bench, who played for the Cincinnati Reds and, as you can guess, wore number 5 on his uniform. 😊⚾

How great – I love that I was able to call out your special number – maybe it’s a sign you better go buy a lottery ticket!

So many people have a special number; my daughter loves 8 because it’s the sign of infinity, the other daughter just shrugged, whilst my hubby loves 2 and 7, and I was born in a house numbered 24, so I’ve always considered 2 and 4 lucky! xx
