Go go (healing) logo…!!

Published by

A while ago, I wrote about how you need to “be prepared” when it comes to planning your day out if you have a migraine. As part of the post, I was umming and ahhing about whether to include a photo of my emergency medical alert keyring. I took the photo… spent time blotting out my contact details… then started to catastrophize that some anti-migraine-blog-person might use digital-witchcraft to stalk me… I know, I know… it’s crazy but unfortunately random bouts of paranoia are a migraine symptom (for anxious-me anyway).

The point is, as I was playing around with the image, I kept noticing that as well as my medi-alert fob, my keyring also has a sky-blue disk covered in paisley patterns on it. And the more I looked at that sky blue paisley disc.. the more I started to imagine my healing mandala on my keyring…

This started my domino-thinking brain going, and I began to imagine all the things I could put my healing mandala on as Christmas presents for the extended family… would that be wrong!?!?

Ha Ha… here… Merry Christmas, may you be mindful!!

And whilst I know I should have left it there… I couldn’t help myself… so, off topic we go…

[Image source: screen shots from Zazzle]

There are a gazillion different places that allow you to customize items with your own image. I already have a mandala-mug, but I also quite liked designing anything that included a ’round’ design which the mandala fitted right into, such as the jacket-pin or the fridge magnet. I don’t love the pale timber surround that was the only option on the wall clock, but I did like the idea of combining a clock with healing… any time is healing time!

Anyway – if you have something – ANYTHING – that says “healing” to you (perhaps it’s a mantra, an affirmation, an inspirational postcard on your fridge, a figurine beside your bed), consider taking a photo of it and turning it into your healing “logo”. Then think about whether you could put it on a cushion or a coffee mug: Good morning! Rise and shine and let’s start healing in a super-personalized way today!

[You could even be a little bit sneaky, and have it made, then leave it somewhere strategic for your family to find so that they’ll gift it to you for Christmas… which is exactly ONE month away – eek!]

Take care colorfully, Linda x

[PS – I’m not entrepreneurial enough to set up a Mindful Migraine Blog Shop, but if you think your water would taste better out of a healing-mandala-water-bottle and that it will remind you that you’re not alone on your healing journey, send me an email from the contact page, and I’ll send you the mandala-image so you can make one yourself!!]

It started as a way to keep myself motivated… then it was something to hide behind on my blog… now it’s a “logo” in a weird and unexpected way that ties all my web-presences together… but really ANYTHING would work! xox

It’s a great idea, to surround oneself with an image that triggers contact with healing!

It has really helped me (blog aside) – just seeing it on my coffee cup is a reminder of how committed I am to living my best life regardless of the pain! xox

Linda, I love this one. First, finding healing words and imagery are so important. Itโ€™s what calms us in a migraine, a flare of pain, etc. second, I feel the same way about sharing pictures or even when I film for the blog. Iโ€™m always careful, especially when someone else my family/something related to them might be visible or my location. I get super paranoid. ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚

    I hope youโ€™re having a calm, no/low pain week.
    ((hugs)!,

Thanks Beck, it kind of seems so silly to be worried about over-sharing when you’re a blogger!!! I’m feeling good today – but I’ve just come off 3 lost days in bed… it always seems to hit harder when you thought things were getting better. L xox

Your logo goes so well with all these products! Beautiful!

I think this is how many art shops start: Creating what we want to see in the world as it does something for us! (It was the case for me!)

Thank you – had a bit of fun on the weekend experimenting – always cheep and cheerful when you get to “try” without the “buy”! xox

I’m glad you had fun with it and got some cheerful time from the process! I tried experimenting on Canva and got frustrated at my lack of creativity. I know it’s a process and I need to have more patience, but I stopped hours into it.

Slow and steady – a bit at a time – start simple and keep going, keep growing… but if it makes you grumpy; stop… a passion project should always make you smile,… feeling a bit uncomfortable is ok (it means you’re stretching yourself and your skills) but too much grumpiness is no good! xox
