Inchstones and blogrolls

In one of those humbling lessons the universe so often sends me, no sooner had I posted a negative review of the internet, than the internet gifted me with positivity.

Moreover, since I only just blogged about ‘inchstones‘ and celebrating all our baby steps, I decided I should share that gift of positivity with all of you: The Mindful Migraine Blog has been ‘seen’ 1,000 times!  (I suspect 100 of those views was me in the first month trying to figure out what the heck I was doing, and there’s probably another 100 that come from my mother… but that still leaves 800 views – yay!)

For veteran bloggers, it’s probably a bit of a low number to crow about, but given this blog was a New Year’s Eve resolution that’s only a few months old, I’m super excited, and I couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you visiting (over and over and over). So, thank you, thank you, thank you!

And since I’m not one to celebrate with champagne and caviar, I thought we could celebrate with fresh air and a blog-roll instead.  Based on the names and faces I keep seeing in my comments and likes, below is a list of 12 of this blog’s biggest, and earliest, supporters (in alphabetical order).

[I didn’t get a chance to reach out and ask you all if you’re ok with this – but your blogs are public, so I’m hoping it is – but let me know if it’s not cool and I’ll gladly delete the link].

The way I see it, a blog is like hosting a house party.  If you want the party to be a success it helps when lots of people turn up.  The best way to have lots of guests is to have lots of friends, and the only way to make friends is to get out there and visit other people’s house parties.

I love reading as much as I enjoy writing, so I spend a lot of time on other people’s blogs, it makes me happy. If you’re super busy, however, still try to spread the love, and pop over and visit one (two, or ten) of the following blogs and like a post or two.  And if your name’s not on this blog roll, don’t stress, you’re all my favorites, and I’ll keep posting new roll-calls from time to time, as I drive you all mad with my mini-achievements.

Amy: “It’s Amy,” I said. – Poems, prose and quirkiness abound.

AwayInk: Away-ink, Oh the twisted stories to come.

Candy: Geek Mamas – It’s like a Mom Blog, but Geekier

Doreen: Doreen’s Health And Wellness Journey to encourage your wellness

Edward: Thoughts about leadership, history, and more

Jennifer: Jennifer Barraclough – Writer

Kevin: The Beginning At Last – Just a simple gorilla trying not to go bananas

Mel: Broke Blonde Biohacker – Inspiring the responsible self-navigator

RTS: RTS -Mental health – Facing The Challenges of Mental Health

Sheila: Offshoots Photography – Seasons and More

StayMentallyHealthy: Mental Health, Depression, OCD

TwistedSpine: Twisted Spine – Your labs look fine.

Here’s hoping you keep reading my blog, because it makes me happy when we’re all healing together, but don’t forget to make new friends as well.

Take care, Linda x

Congrats on the 1st 1000! I’ve been blogging for almost 10 years now on Geek Mamas but started a couple other blogs last year in different niches. It reminded me just how hard it is to get it going and get seen. So, it is definitely a milestone to celebrate!

Thank you!! It definitely feels a bit like shouting into the void those first few weeks, but as more people start to listen you become more confident in your voice. Good luck in all your blogs (you busy thing you!!). Linda xx

Absolutely! I try to keep posting to a minimum, 2-3 per week, so I can spend more time reading and learning from fellow bloggers.

I would like to say, “Thank you” for the mention in this post.

Your blog is catching on & moving forward quite fast.

Your blog about “Migraines” is a subject that is very relative.

Many around the world suffer with them. If not personally affected, they probably know someone that does.

Congratulations for reaching 1,000. Keep on blogging, WordPress is truly a community like none other.

As you keep blogging you will find some great people. Some will make you surprised and have you wonder how they came across your blog.
I remember once, that a Dr. was following my blog. It was humbling to say the least.
        Keep on blogging!
