4 month (re)birth-day

Those of you who have been here before know that I love sharing my baby-steps regarding my healing journey. So, today’s post is another one of ‘those’ kind of posts, and I’ll be honest, there’s lot’s to be excited about, but it’s mostly another shout-out for some other pretty cool blogging people.

Today marks the 4 month anniversary of starting this blog – which might not sound like a big deal… until you realize that it also marks the anniversary of my 4 month (re)birth-day. You see, when I started this blog, it ignited a little fire in my soul that I thought had been permanently put out by years of chronic pain. Turns out the creative spark was still there, it was just a little dampened ember waiting for a breath of inspiration (or more technically correct, an expiration, I suppose, since I’m blowing on the spark – but you know what I mean). And now – wow – I get to wake up and write about whatever I feel like and hang out with all of you, my new online besties!

There’s a saying that keeps ringing in my head: “trust in the process and you shall be rewarded” – I know things are rarely that simple, but sometimes I’m starting to think they don’t have to be excessively hard either. For me, simply deciding to intentionally heal myself was the biggest step forward I made. Once I decided not to ‘wait and see’ what would unfold health-wise and I started to take healing into my own hands, almost straight away I started pulling myself out of the darkness and moving towards the light.

Have faith my friends; you’re already healing, whether you notice it or not.

One of the exciting things that happened this month, happened just yesterday: I wrote my 100th post without even realizing it. As always, I’m well aware it’s a small number for many other bloggers, but for this blogger, a person who has to work around migraines no less, it’s a whopper!

this is an image celebrating 100 blog posts

Another great thing that happened this month, is that one of my fellow bloggers approached me to let me know that they interview bloggers and was I keen. I mentioned it briefly in a postscript earlier in the week, but I wanted to give it more airtime here to help promote their blog. Magnanimous sounds like a long and fancy word, but it’s still small compared to taking the time to get to know other bloggers. It is such a cool thing to do. Here’s the blog so you can read some of the blog-interviews: RTS -Mental health โ€“ Facing The Challenges of Mental Health. (Thanks again for the honor!)

Another person who does a really fabulous job of this sort of thing is Mike from the blog Silent Pariah. He regularly posts a review of blogs with under 500 subscribers that he’s visited and enjoyed – the generosity that flows from his pages is amazing and I applaud him whole heartedly.

In the same way that these two guys embody the abundancy theory (there really is enough room for all of us, aways), here’s another shout-out for some of the blogs and their blogging-parents who make me sunshiny-happy. Take the time to pop over to their pages and give them some love:

Cindy Knoke: Cindy Knoke โ€“ Photography, Birds and Travel

Cazzy Coop: cazzycoop | A great place to relax (wordpress.com)

Destiny’s Designz: Destiny’s Designz โ€“ this & that (wordpress.com)

Godhuli: Diving into the abyss of human experience

Joanne rambling: Remember Life’s Too Short To Be Miserable

Moonside: MOONSIDE | TRIUMPH OF SPIRIT IN LOVE, NATURE & ART

Priti: Endless dreams and boundless imaginations! โ€“ We only live once.

Spark of inspiration: Blog โ€“ Spark of Inspiration (monicaganz.com)

Don’t forget there’s free printables over on the resources page to help you help yourself with care-full healing (the applause button is glitchy but the downloads seem to work (sigh)). I’m also happy to be your creative neighbor and knock up anything else you think you might need; just let me know.

Best wishes everyone, thank you for taking this journey with me, and remember that I believe in you and your ability to find health and happiness,

Linda xox

First up thanks for the mention, I appreciate it a bloody lot.

Next doesn’t it feel good to feel more alive and like you then that person just going through the motions, I spent 5yrs just going through the motions acting like all was fine when it wasn’t and it showed on my body. By way of how much control I did not have over it.

100 posts is damn amazing because when you are in and type of pain let alone the pain of a migraine which is a whole right pain in its self, which can make concentration bloody hard, the words just run together and hide from us.

I may be new here but I hang around and can be hard to get rid of at times, so I will be back.

It is very liberating to realise I donโ€™t have to mourn what I lost, but can celebrate who I am becomingโ€ฆ not better or worse, just different. Iโ€™m glad that youโ€™ve found peace with your pain and thrilled that youโ€™re part of team besties; your skippy logo makes me smile every time I see it. โค๏ธ

Thank you – I feel a bit cringy getting excited about something so small, but for me it’s kind of momentous – so, hey… here’s to more months of me writing a mixture of useful stuff combined with weird things that come to mind (which I guess is the essence of blogging)! ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Congratulations on 4 months and 100 posts!! I normally post once a week, so would need two years to get to 100. Thank you for sharing my posts and others as well. Itโ€™s nice to see what others are up to. Oh, I did look at the flyers you created a while back. Theyโ€™re really nice. Iโ€™ll have to go back and look at them. Hereโ€™s to more blogging! ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŒบ

Yes, more blogging, more banter, hopefully plenty more healing – sometimes it’s tough, but we have a lot to be grateful for, like pink flowers! (I love that your logo and your signoff always read like little bookends to your comments!)

Thank you. It was an accident, Iโ€™m not an expert at creating my website. I did this, did that, and that flower ended up being a happy touch. You have some beautiful worksheets. I like how they look. Did you design them?

All me! The repressed architect is making a bit of a comeback. I crave colour and fancy fonts, but my brain is still a bit drained so less is best sometimes. Accident or not, the flower is the perfect touch, and seems to sum you up nicely my friend! Xox
