The blog-rolls keep rolling

I said I was going to annoy you all with my mini-achievements, so here I am celebrating another teeny-tiny-yet-epic milestone: 500 LIKES! Because, in case you haven’t noticed, I’m super motivated about collecting likes (not really – but I’m only human, and they make me warm and fuzzy so keep them coming!)

When I started this blog at the beginning of the year, I had absolutely no clue what to expect or really even what I was hoping to achieve. I decided to just wing it as I went based on two deep, driving emotions.

I was really hopeful that I might be able to help a few people. I felt like I was slowly getting my migraine-mojo back and was transforming from ‘the biggest loser’ in terms of my health, into ‘a winner’. By adopting mindfulness techniques, I had gone from 3 full migraine days a week, to about one day every 3 weeks. (For those of you who don’t get migraines, one a year is too many, but days and days of them, week after week, is soul-destroying.) I figured, if the tips and tricks I was learning were helping someone like me heal, then maybe they’d work for others too… it was worth a try.

Secondly, I was terribly lonely. Chronic migraine had left me essentially house-bound. I had stopped working, driving, and socializing… my world was becoming increasingly smaller and very much darker. Blogging was a way to ‘get out and about’, ‘find my tribe’, and unite with likeminded souls, reclaiming wellness together (all from the comfort of my pyjamas!).

My mindfulness journey has helped me realize that pain and suffering are two separate creatures, and whilst I have limited control over the pain, I deliberately choose each day not to suffer (too much). Moreover, I’ve also realized that whilst all our journeys are unique (your pain – your brain – your journey), it’s more empowering when we band together and support each other every step of the way.

Anyway, here we are – me writing and you reading. Hopefully you’re discovering a few mindfulness techniques that are helping you on your own journey to good health and happiness. Equally important, I hope that you’ve discovered a few people to keep you company along the way.

As I mentioned in my last baby-step-inchstone-boast-post, I’m a big believer that our successes rely on the assistance of others, and in this case, it’s you the readers. So, here’s another 15 blogs that have been instrumental in motivating me to keep going by providing me with their support via likes and comments (you’re all like my little battery-chargers!). Please pop over and have a look at what others are writing about. Whether you’re listed here or not, know that I see you – you are noticed – and you are valued.

Love to read the unfolding messages, understanding chronic pain and the case of assisting each other in these difficult times.

    Positive read.

lol, I have never actually seen another Audi rental car. I spent 20 minutes trying to figure out how to get it out of the parking lot. Itโ€™s a Q3 and itโ€™s nice but thereโ€™s too much technology happening and I donโ€™t like when the engine turns off at the stoplights. when it restarts it lurches forward and itโ€™s really annoying. The best part about the car is the sunroof. Honestly, I just want my car back.๐Ÿ˜‚

I havenโ€™t forgotten about writing for your blog! Had another job interview last week and fingers crossed for this one. Didnโ€™t want you to think I forgot, and for sure want to do it (Iโ€™m just not sure when). if youโ€™d like someone else to go first, I totally understand! ๐Ÿ’ž

Thank you Amy! You do what you gotta do. What will be will be – the universe seems to be taking me where it will at the moment and I’m not fighting back anymore. I’m hoping all your car issues are getting sorted, and all my fingers and toes are crossed that you get the right job for you. Best wishes always, Linda โค๏ธ

Thanks, Linda! My car is still in the shop, so Iโ€™m driving a rental Audi. Who ever heard of a rental Audi?! Very fancy, and I shudder to think what itโ€™s costing per dayโ€ฆ Hoping to get an update on my (much less fancy) car this week. Iโ€™m glad youโ€™re going with the universe and not fighting against it. I have found that it seems to work better that way. And it causes less stress, which is good for the migraine brain. ๐Ÿ˜Šโ™ฅ๏ธ

Not many rental Audi’s in Australia I don’t think… maybe it can’t hurt if they keep your car in repair for another few days… ๐Ÿ™ƒ.

The prompts always make me laugh – WordPress seems to give me random encouragement for some milestones and not others – but what the heck, I figure I’ll take it and blog about it! ๐Ÿ˜Š Hope the new job is going OK. Linda x

I don’t get any milestone notifications at all, so I am glad I am not the only one. Seems like some people get notifications just for logging in on a given day, I swear.

Oh wow OK – I’m one of those people who get a ridiculous amount of congratulations for blogging 3 days in a row – I think it’s something to do with the box I ticked in my notifications setting…?? (Yay for work working out). xxx

[If you’re interested – top right: profile > notifications > site achievements… that said, I checked mine again and I still can’t see any rhyme or reason as to why I get some pats on the back and not others…?!@#?!]
