I’m not a huge fan of being a housewife. That’s not to say I’m a prissy-princess either; I clean toilets with the rest of you. It’s just that doing the same chores over and over can get a bit tedious. Throw in some constant face-pain and waves of nausea and it’s even less enjoyable. I often gripe about how I used to resent the ironing until I discovered that it was a good time to listen to podcasts about holistic healing or manifesting. Now I can actually get into a bit of a Zen-mood when I iron; think “wipe-on-wipe-off-grasshopper”, but with a “swish-left-swish-right-iron-baby-iron-and-breathe-breathe-breathe”.
So, whilst Sunday afternoon ironing is now one of my favorite pastimes, washing the clothes remains a bit boring… (“I mean seriously, I’m washing THIS again, I swear it only just came off the line like two days ago!?!”)
That said, every now and then you get blessed with a pleasant moment while you’re in the laundry. The odd trinket or secret letter that pops out of a pocket, some lose change (thank you very much for your donation), or a laundry label that makes you laugh… like this one from my husband’s shorts which says “WASH THIS WHEN DIRTY”, complete with a drop of water that seems to be smirking at me:

At the risk of going completely off-topic for a Mindful Migraine Blog… every now and then I enjoy indulging my curiosity for quirkiness… such as when I went looking to see if animals can give bombastic-side-eye as well as my kids. I just had to find out if there were other laughable-laundry-labels… and as always… the internet did not disappoint:

If I had to write one to add to the collection, it would probably say “save water – don’t bother washing – it will only end up on the floor of your teen’s bedroom anyway”.
So, with that, my latest instalment of “laughter is the best medicine” is complete – enjoy the rest of your day!
Take care washing (your kids), Linda x
PS – it’s almost impossible for me to wrap my head around, but apparently I’ve written 200 posts for The Mindful Migraine Blog!?!? Thanks to all of you for reading… you’re the reason I write!
